East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition 2014

The East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition 8th & 9th March 2014

Exhibition Manager's Report

Well over 2000 visitors climbed on board this weekend to enjoy our East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition.

With 26 layouts in all of the popular gauges inside, and lots of outdoor attractions including live steam rides, adults and children alike had a fabulous day in the sunshine.

After only two years at Huntingdon Racecourse, the exhibition has outgrown this venue and in 2015 the event moves to Wood Green Animal Charity Centre in Godmanchester. If you missed out this time, join us on the 14th & 15th March next year.

Avyn A Llyin, a 009 layout of a fictitious Welsh coastal village by Andrew and Alison Bailey was presented with the Jim Curle Shield by Cllr Bill Hensley for the Best Layout as selected by the Huntingdon Mayor. The same layout also received the Brian Rawlings Shield for the Best Layout as voted by the public.

I want to thank all of our exhibitors, traders, demonstrators, visiting stewards, Huntingdon Racecourse staff and St Neots Model Railway Club members for making this year such a great success. The weather was really fabulous, the Fenland Light Railway gave us so much support, as did Stephen Lee who organised the miniature traction engines - they were enjoyed by all and, thank you to everyone who came along.

Don't forget the 14th & 15th March 2015. See you next year
