East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition 2019

The East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition hosted by St Neots MRC was held in Kettering on 8th & 9th June

We had over 2000 visitors during the two days and we have had some great feedback. We are very pleased that our show, in its new location and at a new time of year was so well received. We will do it all again next year, so, save the dates in your diary for 13th & 14th June 2020."

Thank you to all who attended and thank you to the layouts, traders, demonstrators and local clubs, societies and associations for making it a great show. We also cannot manage without the visiting stewards who come to help our St Neots MRC Team so thank you to them.

Guest Judge Paul Jones, Warley National Exhibition Manager, chose Bewdley to receive the Jim Curle Shield for best layout as chosen by the guest judge. The team were then also awarded the Brian Rawlings Shield on Sunday for best layout as chosen by the public. Paul Jones also awarded highly commended certificates to the Handley Family for Sixpenny Handley by James Handley (featured in Railway Modeller in 2018) and Bartholomew’s Hollow by Nathanael Handley (which will also be featured in Railway Modeller). Sixpenny Handley (on the left) and Bartholomew’s Hollow (on the right) can be free standing or joined together as seen at the show. The whole family were involved in building the layouts with supervision from their dad Richard. Paul Jones wanted to acknowledge the involvement of young family members who will be the future modellers.
